Overview
Maintain Portal Menu's allows the administrator to create a menu tree for the organization. The menu can then be deployed to any page within the portal.
Each item in the tree, whether it be a Menu type (that contains sub menu's) or an Item type (that launches an application), is associated with a permission. This allows an individual user's menu to contain only those items related to their specific permission structure.
Operation
Maintain Portal Menu's operates slightly differently from the other Administrator applications. When it first loads it automatically contains all items in the menu's root and any menu item with a type of Menu has a hyperlink on it's caption.
To maintain the table, click the edit button. The hyper links will disappear and you will be able to add, edit and delete items in the table. Click Ok to save the changes or Cancel to abandon them and the hyper links will reappear.
To edit the children of a Menu item, click it's hyper link. The form will reload and contain the selected item's children. Furthermore the Back button will appear in the toolbar, click the back button to redisplay the parent's menu level.
